Sangria is an easy and fun way to spice up your next party! Slice up some oranges and apples (I like the kick Granny Smith apples give to this recipe) and put them in the bottom of a large pitcher. Add in your brandy, which will also keep the apples from oxidizing. I use about one cup of brandy for every bottle of wine I plan to mix in. Same thing with your orange juice, about a cup per every bottle of wine. Then add in a smoother and fruity red wine. Today I am using Merlot but I have also used Cabernet or a red blend. I am not a fan of spicy wines such as Shiraz. This is a double bottle so I used about 2c of brandy and OJ each. My secret ingredient is a cinnamon stick or two! Toss it in and let it ferment with the wine! It's great if you can do all of this a few hours before your party to let the flavors mix and marinate. Then before you serve add in a couple cups of 7up and let your guests enjoy! Cheers!
