This one might become a favorite for any kind of camping you do, whether it’s progressive backcountry camping or just family car camping. It’s light, packed with protein, good carbs and veggies, and tastes amazing. When you’re in the wilderness and you can eat this without actually cooking you’re going to appreciate this meal! Steakhouse potatoes are packed with spinach and bacon and With a sprinkle of Parmesan at the end, they taste like your favorite steakhouse side dishes all rolled into one. here’s what to put in your vacuum bag: 1c/package potato flakes 1/4c spinach flakes One package shelf-stable precooked bacon pepper to taste Bring the Parmesan to add after. If you don’t want to bring a whole bottle you can grab some individual packets from your local pizza place. I use the spinach to keep the potatoes and the bacon separate in the package. When you add water add it directly to the potatoes and stir in the spinach and bacon. You’ll need about two cups of water so this makes a large meal. After it is stirred to the consistency you like, add in the Parmesan cheese to taste. The bacon and Parmesan will have plenty of salt so no more salt is needed in this one. This one also makes a great side dish if you have some luck! Pictured below: elk tenderloin with steakhouse mash as a side dish for these talented bow hunters!
