Cous Cous cooks fast and is a great blank canvas for whatever flavors you like. This one can be customized to whatever ingredients you have extra of from making your other meals. I have leftover freeze dried veggies and chicken as well as some sauce packets that will add flavor when cooked. Into the vacuum seal bag goes the following:
1/2 c Cous Cous 2/3c Freeze Dried chicken 1/3c veggie mix (Or other freeze dried veggies you have on hand) To cook: boil water and cover Cous Cous mix completely. You want about equal parts water to dry mix. Slightly more would be fine. Less could be a problem to get it all rehydrated. Fold over the top and clip shut to cook for about 6-7 minutes (bring a chip clip or binder clip with your food stash). Once it’s done fluff it with a fork and then you can sprinkle a little of the seasoning packet into the mix. My hubby likes the garlic Alfredo but we have done the pesto also (see below). You won’t need a ton, it’s very salty and strong flavor.
